A wedding with 130 bridesmaids and 100 ushers is sure to make for a wedding video Manchester and the rest of the north west won’t forget for some time. Happy couple Amy Ewing and Alex Simmons tied the knot and smashed two Guinness World Records all in one day, owing to a £110,000 wedding won in a competition. Abbi Lewis, who runs a local bridal shop, had the idea for the record breaking wedding and wanted a willing couple to take part. Amy and Alex had previously planned a small wedding, but with everything donated for free, the incredible wedding was pulled together in just five months, the Daily Mirror reports. The wedding was paid for by local companies and that included the 130 matching bridesmaids’ dresses and 100 groomsmen suits, costing a cool £48,000 between them. In order to break the record, the couple had to know all the groomsmen and bridesmaids, meaning calling in favours from friends all over the world. They also had to top the previous record for most ushers, which stood at 47, set in Canada, and most bridesmaids, set in Sri Lanka in 2013 and standing at 126. Not only was this the first time the record had been attempted in the UK, it was the first time both records had been attempted at the same time. You’ll have to have some wedding budget to beat that, but whatever you’re needs – extreme or otherwise – we’re sure to be able to provide you with the perfect wedding video for your big day.
