What About A Garden Wedding?
The hottest summer for 40 years is being predicted, which is great news all round – especially if you’re getting married in the next couple of months and have an outdoor event planned. There are some brilliant wedding venues here in the UK and if you’ve got your heart set on an al fresco affair, what about getting hitched in a garden instead of something more traditional?
Mottisfont, Hampshire
Make sure you explore the walled rose garden in this 13th century abbey. The garden itself was actually created back in the 70s to help protect rare roses from extinction and it’s so beautiful that it’s completely perfect for an outdoor wedding.
Kilver Court, Somerset
This venue comes with its own Victorian Charlton viaduct running through the garden, which is a serious plus, but there’s also a mill pond, rockeries and a parterre – all of which come together to ensure your wedding videographer will have a huge amount of material to shoot.
Barnsley House, the Cotswolds
Want the perfect album of wedding photos and a wedding video people will be clamouring to watch again and again? Then you’ve got to book Barnsley House in the Cotswolds. There are knot gardens, beautiful Simon Verity sculptures, a fruit and veg garden, and a Laburnum Walk. There are, of course, many more beautiful English gardens in which you can say your vows so if you’ve got your heart set on this, make sure you do your research well. We bet there are plenty in your local area so just have an ask around and get online to see what you can find.
