Average Weddings ‘Cost £15,000’
People thinking about getting married and currently considering which Manchester wedding video companies to hire for their big day will certainly be thinking about how much they’re likely to spend on the event – and new research has revealed the average cost of a wedding in the UK was £15,494 in 2013. This is the lowest this figure has been in four years, according to the statistics from wedding website Hitched, thanks in part to creative decor and cake ideas, package prices from wedding photographers and venues providing special offers to couples saying “I do”. Of course, not everything can be scrimped on and there are areas you should definitely spend money on to ensure you get a quality product, from videographers and photographers to the honeymoon. In fact, the Hitched study discovered that honeymoons are where a lot of you are spending their cash, with couples setting aside more than 20% of their budget for their first trip away as man and wife – and the most popular style emerging as a romantic beach honeymoon for the fourth year in a row, preferred by 38% of couples. “With so many incredible destinations on offer around the world, it doesn’t surprise me that wedding planning couples are choosing to spend more money on this once in a lifetime holiday,” site editor Francesca Cribb remarked. If you’re thinking of booking a beach honeymoon, you should definitely think about your destination seriously as there are so many great places to choose from. Harbour Island in the Bahamas could be a brilliant option, as it boasts a famous pink beach, pristine shores and deliciously warm water. Or if you’d prefer to be a bit more adventurous, why not choose Chankanaab Bay in Cozumel, Mexico, which has some of the best snorkelling and diving experiences around.
